💼 7 More Ways to Make Money in TV & Film
Hollywood money isn’t just for A-listers. There are plenty of ways for working creatives to earn sustainably—and here are the top ones to consider:
Acting Gigs – Sign with a reputable agent, join SAG-AFTRA, and build relationships with casting directors.
Writing for TV/Web – Writers’ rooms are growing on streaming shows. Apply for fellowships (like NBC Writers on the Verge or the Disney General Entertainment Writing Program).
Producing Branded Content – Partner with companies to produce lifestyle, beauty, or entertainment segments for YouTube or social.
Content Licensing – Sell your indie short, podcast, or unscripted pilot to platforms like Issa Rae Presents.
Virtual Coaching or Classes – Teach what you know! Acting, screenwriting, book writing, makeup—people are paying for your expertise.
Grant Writing for Creatives – Become a resource for other creatives by helping them secure film/art grants.
Monetize Social Media – Build a niche following around your creative work, behind-the-scenes process, or lifestyle. Brands will pay to partner with you!
